Paul, I built 1.8.4 and got a LOT of warnings and couple of errors. At the end of build .. >>>> internal error: collect info objdump-info about package libruby1.8-dbg: 256 N: Skipping check of binary package libruby1.8-dbg Finished running lintian. Now signing changes and any dsc files... Could not find a signing program (pgp or gpg)! debuild: fatal error at line 788: running debsign failed >>>> I ran as root and ofcourse lintian complained about that. I suspect that the last thing from debsign is because packager's pgp is not there?
I also got the following debs. irb1.8_1.8.4-2_all.deb libtcltk-ruby1.8_1.8.4-2_i386.deb libdbm-ruby1.8_1.8.4-2_i386.deb rdoc1.8_1.8.4-2_all.deb libgdbm-ruby1.8_1.8.4-2_i386.deb ri1.8_1.8.4-2_all.deb libopenssl-ruby1.8_1.8.4-2_i386.deb ruby1.8-dev_1.8.4-2_i386.deb libreadline-ruby1.8_1.8.4-2_i386.deb ruby1.8-elisp_1.8.4-2_all.deb libruby1.8-dbg_1.8.4-2_i386.deb ruby1.8-examples_1.8.4-2_all.deb libruby1.8_1.8.4-2_i386.deb ruby1.8_1.8.4-2_i386.deb I am wondering if I should install in light of the error? If it is ok to install is there any order I should install them or will the top level deb pull the rest in based on dependencies? -bakki On 4/25/06, Paul van Tilburg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Small procedure hints: > - Add an unstable deb-src line to sources.list. > - Update and get the source pkg (apt-get source ruby1.8). > - Install the build-depends of ruby1.8 (apt-get build-dep ruby1.8). > - Install devscripts. > - cd ruby1.8; debuild > - Install the debs in ../ :) > > Paul > > -- > Student @ Eindhoven | email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > University of Technology, The Netherlands | JID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >>> Using the Power of Debian GNU/Linux <<< | GnuPG key ID: 0x50064181 > > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (GNU/Linux) > > iD8DBQFETe6RJBBhylAGQYERAhVpAJ4xXY8nacR7HyCfi7Wo9bgaFbz8XgCeLUsN > dtvzIpPvMYpj4ScxrBFam4k= > =yyqc > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > >
