And that's fine.  However, what you posted was not even close to being a
bracketed "well formed IP".  It was:

<rnddg[2]>.<rnddg[2]>.<rnddg[2]>.<rnddg[2]>

Even if you were to convert all of the letters to numbers in the above
hostname, it still would not be a valid/RFC compliant bracketed "well formed
IP" address.  Thus, I would summarily block a hostname like this at my
gateway - IMail/Declude would never see it.
