Or even allowed on a list What many lists I belong to help avoid this is disallow any reposting of the footers. That way an automated process like this would never get through. It requires the users posting, us, to cut off the footers manually but that keeps the lists mean and lean. Initially I hated it but they are right. They do not allow HTML and they allow no footers and it works well.
