Jackrabbit manages its own set of persistent indices, so you probably need to open one folder below the one you try now (if you just start the repository, you'll see folders like _0 , _1 etc. these are the ones you can open).

I try all directories but getting still "Invalid path, or not a Lucene index".... perhaps a version problem?, JR 1.3.1 still using Lucene v2.0?
