Hello all, I humbly ask that you guys give this version one last look-over. I would like to think that I've taken all comments into consideration, but please tell me if there are any last things which I might have forgotten on the way here. I've re-recorded the audio (again), because I realized while editing it that my computer was dropping bits of audio last time and so the sound was kind of choppy. I also figured out that my hardware natively runs at 48000 Hz, so it made more sense to record and edit at that sample rate.
As per the GHOP rules, these videos are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/). I've also encoded it into different versions (all XVID/MP3 based, mind) in hopes that it is easier to review. If anybody actually wants a copy using Theora/Vorbis (using either the Matroska or Ogg containers), please let me know in the next few days and I can prepare one. Otherwise, one could simply convert the version using "original" video later. Re-encoded version (AVI/XVID/MP3; Video @ 1024x768, Quantizer 4; Audio @ 96kbps ABR; 7.5MB) This version appears to me as identical as the "original", but it has a smaller filesize. It should suffice for most viewing purposes. http://rapidshare.com/files/86679860/MarkupInheritence-4-edited-v1-recode.avi.html http://webhome.idirect.com/~rgh/wicket/MarkupInheritence-4-edited-v1-recode.avi Low Quality encoded version (AVI/XVID/MP3; Video @ 512x384, Quantizer 4; Audio @ 32kbps CBR; 2.6MB) This version uses a reduced resolution and audio bitrate so that it is smaller. While not useful for reviewing video quality, it should suffice for getting the gist of the flow of the video. I found I could still read it once scaled to full screen in my video player, although YMMV. http://rapidshare.com/files/86678481/MarkupInheritence-4-edited-v1-lq.avi.html http://webhome.idirect.com/~rgh/wicket/MarkupInheritence-4-edited-v1-lq.avi (alternate) Version using "original" video (AVI/XVID/MP3; Video @ 1024x768; Audio @ 128kbps CBR; ~20MB) This version is mainly intended for anyone who wishes to convert the video into other formats or to create derivative works, although it is certainly not limited to such uses. http://rapidshare.com/files/86677713/MarkupInheritence-4-edited-v1.avi.html http://webhome.idirect.com/~rgh/wicket/MarkupInheritence-4-edited-v1.avi (alternate) I have also uploaded the video to Google Videos so that one may view it without downloading the video. Please note that the streaming lowers the quality of the video (even below that of the LQ encoded version, above). It is provided primarily for two reasons: A) for convenience, and B) to make sure I satisfy GHOP rules by using Google infrastructure. http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=3474333579336248840&hl=en-CA Again, all comments are appreciated, and of course I would love to know if there is anything that remains before we can mark this issue as completed! This message will also be posted in the google issue tracker. -- Michael Chang Please note that not all formatting may be preserved in Office/Word/Powerpoint documents sent to me.
