Personally I have been on this adventure since the days of the n900 and one of the things that were/are very important to me is the fact that I know that even if the company fails/pulls the plug there is a active community that will continue to release bugfixes/improvements. Or alternatively they'd need to make the serious investment of developing the product themselves which again has all the above points plus serious R&D and QA costs.
