My idea revolves autotooling in steps: 1) individual utility programs (xrandr, xwininfo, etc.) 2) some of the non core libraries (Xaw, etc.) 3) drivers 4) dynamically loaded extentions (GL, etc.) 5) Xserver 6) core libraries Steps 4 and 5 may be in the wrong order.
