That works for me.

OK folks, I think based on the feedback I got as compared with my own
personal analysis of what structurally will work best for the site,
Channel Nine seems to be a good choice. I like Ditto Ditto as well
but I'm not sure it's a big enough design structurally to handle what
we want.
So last chance for comments before we start moving on and cranking out
some UI prototoypes--everyone cool with Channel Nine?

Good point, within reason. In other words, if it's a huge amount of
work or a massive hack to get it looking "right" (i.e. within
acceptable parameters given the fact that it will never look
identical) in Opera, I don't think that needs to be a huge concern.
If we get it looking good in IE and FF, in my mind additional browser
like Opera and Safari are icing on the cake. Between IE and FF I bet
you hit at least 99% of all users. Safari's popular on the Mac but a
lot of Mac users use FF as their primary browser because Safari still
has some issues (at least when last I used it).

Let's except that it isn't going to look the same in every browser.
Let's find a "look" we like and we'll teak the code so it works in all
"browsers", I'm not talking just about IE or FF. There are many
browsers, platforms and devices out there and who knows what's
comming.
"bullet proof" design.

But those numbers are dropping fast--IE is down to 80% in Europe (it's
still at about 90% in the US), and of course among techies like us
Firefox use is extremely high.
Obviously the app we build will have to work in both browsers and most
of the designs on oswd are compatible with both IE and Firefox.

Now now, there's nothing wrong with IE...lol. I'd say over 90% of the
public uses it.

Yet another reason not to use IE. :-)
Are any of these designs more likely to support sub-menus if necessary
and dynamically populating content?
WYSIWYG with these designs--some of them already have sub-menus in the
basic design, which means we wouldn't even have to worry about that
level of design from a CSS and layout perspective. I'd say to get
rolling the closer the design is to what we'll want/need, the better.
