It would seem pointless capturing a raster image for use by a vector
drawing program. How are you supposed to use/edit this "screen image"?
Besides, how do you display the image to capture it without running visio
first?

It is not necessary to read the Visio image file. Just capture the
image from a screen image.
Of course, this can only be done when there is no copyright problem.
Perhaps if a vendor has Visio images of its products in the public
domain. But not any images on Visio's original disks.
