Hello, Displaytag sorts the data that it receives from the controller. It is your choice if you cache your data, or refetch it everytime. The important thing to understand is that when sorting or paging it always submits a request to your action and the action gets executed every time. That's the role of requestUri attribute - to tell displaytag which action it should go to so that it will have his data available for sorting or paging.
