Back in the days of Beta 1 some kind soul from Microsoft wrote a
WebRequest/WebResponse sample which implemented FTP. It disappeared (I think when Beta
2 was released), but we were promised a version that would work with the release of
the .NET framework.

Hopefully it's still on somebody's TODO list...

Subject: AW: [DOTNET] .NET and FTP?

Look at http://www.allapi.net/classlib/class.php?id=23

They have a freeware FTP Client written in VB.NET. I use it in my app
myself. It works ok, tough I had to add a few lines of code for additional
error handling.

FTP is missing from the framework, which I guess makes sense
considering the
functionality was missing in Win32 (given the problems of using
WinInet is
        server applications).
