Hi guys, I wonder if addons are simply searches that require additional files, beyond the .xml spec? It seems so, looking at the existing ones. Other than that, I don't see how being an addon would allow greater reach than a search, except perhaps by convention.
I think that's it, anyway: an addon is a search with additional "stuff", be it COM components (timesync), a group of related searches (genealogy), web service wrappers (googlespell), that won't fit in a single xml file.
