I can get lockups with R300 and my own code, too. It seems to be similar to
your lockup, but it's just when the buffers run out. I think the no-usleep
patch should be committed as it helps to get gdb working. I also wonder if it's
worth looking for places where we can get into an infinite loop and adding a
timeout of X iterations... At least Second Life can reliably reproduce the
lockup; my code doesn't seem to reproduce it 100% of the time. It does seem to
happen quicker at higher resolutions though; probably because the card must
work (much) harder then.
