Hello Skip, The Automatic Update feature updates the info displayed in the Callsign/Mgr Lookup window as you scroll through the log.
Hit <F3> to display the window. Make sure your user name and password are entered in File > Preferences > Ext Data and you have Online Callsign lookup enabled.
