I recently did a clean installation of Gutsy on a server that was previously running a version upgraded from Feisty. Bringing up incidental and mostly trivial bugs to the list belie one simple fact - this release of Edubuntu is outstanding, and it does more things better than ever before. Period.
One thing that my newly installed server seems to do better than Feisty is to configure my clients to work at resolutions higher than 1024x768. It is impressive, however, many monitors cannot handle more than 1024x768. We have about 450 users, and I don't want to have all of them manually change their resolution settings - they are elementary kids. Short of creating a template user and tarring their configs into all other home directories, is their a way to do this? Leads: 1. I don't see any resolution settings for lts.conf. 2. I think that I can modify vertical and refresh rates in lts.conf to rates amenable only to 1024x768. 3. I think, from looking at an uresolved thread in July, that I can modify the 24 bit settings in xorg.conf to use only my preferred resolution. All my clients use 24 bit as set by lts.conf. --scott -- edubuntu-users mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/edubuntu-users
