This is new with the emacs that I built from the CVS sources a few days ago,
I think it may be related to the gnus agent doing background polling of the
IMAP host, but I periodically get the following message in the console
window:
** (emacs-22-1-50:2180): WARNING **: failure: no device event controller found.
In GNU Emacs 22.1.50.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.10.3)
of 2007-04-30 on maya.teledyn.com
I know nothing about the problem, but your version number looks suspect
if you built this just a few days ago.
