As are mine, but I recently updated all the wintel machines to a group of
4 off lease Dell 7010's with older i5 cpus, considerably power hungrier
than the failing atom powered D525MW's were, and looking at my power
bill, I'm rethinking shutting them down when not in actual use. Or
buying a few more rpi4's, but the support and interfacing would add
about $350 to $400 per machine. Just the costs of the interfacing is in
the $200/machine bracket. A 7i90 and 3 7i43TA's, but I'd have plenty of
I/O left to do interesting things. All other solutions take away the
pi's ethernet but I've found the rpi4's spi is extremely dependable and
I don't lose my ethernet. Best of all scenarios but costly.

Monitor power isn't a major concern as the current crop of led lit stuff
is all under 25 watts active. The pi does screen blanking yet and that
19" hdmi monitor is 11 watts hot. Two of the others are still ccfl lit,
and 40 or 50 watts hungrier. But 125 watt cpu's do add up.
