I just wanted to say that I agree with this decision! "EMC" was always too short, and such a common letter combination to make an effective search term on the internet. LinuxCNC is also much more descriptive of the software's purpose as Chris' message said.
It's sort of a milestone for this project too! We're well known enough to make a big outfit like EMC have their lawyers call us! That's got to count for something :) I'm glad to see the board is still active and effective.
