i've a hankering to build a gasoline powered battery charger
i attached a crude idea
the motor is the box and the alternator is the cylinder
they are attached with a rigid coupler
auto style alternators have no machined surface to mount
i'm trying to not use a belt or flex coupler
the alternator is hanging with the two vertical rods to prevent rotation
since the direction of rotation is anticlockwise from the alternator end
if the rods are properly placed the torque should lift the alternator
and prevent excess stress on the motor bearings
is this too simple
