Esound is, to most people, dead.  Esound was neccisary for several years
(it's been around, what, more than 5 years?) because sound cards could
only handle a single input at a time.  Most modern sound cards and kernel
drivers for those cards can multiplex audio, making a sound daemon
completely unneeded.  I doubt we'll see any sound daemons officually
supported in the future at all.  If you need one grab one (your
suggestions are good ones), but most people won't.
