Hi E-Developers,

Recently the E16 and XCursor issue has been discussed a couple of
times. Apparently there is a patch available (haven't tried it, yet)
which requires modification of a theme's configuration. *Every*
theme's configuration that is.

<disclaimer>
  Since I am not at all familiar with E16's source code, I will not
  make any claims about the effort involved in implementing my idea.

Idea
====

How about a button in one of the config menus that toggles between
theme cursors and XCursor?

Reasons
=======

1. I assume that if anyone prefers XCursor over a theme's cursors, the
   user will most likely prefer them in general (i.e. over all themes'
   cursors).

2. Modification of a potentially large number of config files is not
   efficient. Installation of a new (or updated) theme won't be as simple
   as it is now.

3. A user might not have the permissions necessary to modify the
   config files (e.g. those of the standard themes that come with E16).

4. When a user gets sick of XCursor (s)he can revert to the original
   theme cursors with a mouse click. And the other way around, of
   course.

Does that make sense?

Best regards,
     Marcus
