I think excessive parentheses deteriorate code readability.
In general I don't like unnecessary code as it always makes me wonder if  
there is a good reason it is there, which is just annoying when there  
isn't :)
I do occasionally put in unnecessary parentheses when I think it actually  
does help code readability, but I'd like it to be my choice.
