Looks like Cory Doctorow is willing to do a talk late in the day on the 30th June.

Hey, Michael -- sorry, it's going to have to be new year's -- the
parents arrive Toronto and I'm off work.

I could come up for the day on the 30th and do a talk -- is it late
enough in the day to come in by train, give the talk and get home in
time to get the baby from the creche?

Hey Cory,

I hope you had a good time in Toronto and congratulations on getting
married!

Sorry for dropping the ball on getting back to you. Do you think you
might have an hour or two for a drink before the festivities or are we
better off waiting until the new year? I'm in Clerkenwell every weekday
on Tuesday - so at your leisure.

I have another request, which is cheeky but entirely orthogonal. I am on
the organising committee of the UK Python conference. In 2009 we are
hosting the European Python conference (EuroPython) and we would be
massively honoured if you would be able to be a keynote speaker. We
expect around three hundred or so European programming geeks to converge
on Birmingham on the 30th June to 4th July 2009 - with the main
conference 30th June to 2nd July (so we have 3 keynote 'slots'):

Obviously I will completely understand if this is not possible for you.
You could have a free hand in choosing any topic that you think would be
relevant to modern techno-geeks, although if you do accept we would love
to know the topic in advance (as approximately as the situation
warrants)...

All the best,

Michael Foord

Hey, Michael! I'd love to! I'm in Toronto right now, about to get
married, and then going on honeymoon, and then going off to Texas to
give a speech, all winding up the first week of Dec. Ping me then?

Thanks!

Cory

Hello Cory,

Allegedly you work in Clerkenwell (?). A bunch of us work at Resolver
Systems [1], also handily located in Clerkenwell, and are great fans of
your work in all its nefarious forms.

We would love the opportunity for a casual beer (or beverage of your
preference) with you some lunchtime or evening should the opportunity
present itself.

I'm sure you get such offers from plenty of loonys and we're only as
loony as the next guy [2]. :-)
Anyway, all that aside - thanks for all that you do and all the fun
you've caused us over the years.

All the best,

Michael Foord
