Americans, on the whole, have never heard of Birmingham in the UK.

It is still possible for me to make changes. Do we assume that everyone
knows that Birmingham is in the UK? :-)

Hello all,
We now have an announcement live on Python.org. David Goodger has also
given me access to post to the PyCon blog. The wording I'm suggesting is:
Ttitle: EuroPython 2009 Call for Proposals
EuroPython 2009 is being
hosted by the PyCon UK Society and will be taking place in Birmingham
City Centre from the 28th June to 3rd July 2009, replacing PyCon UK.
This is a community conference - so we need your talks to make it a
success.
We're looking for proposals on all aspects of Python - programming
from novice to advanced levels; applications and frameworks, or how
you have been involved in introducing Python into your organisation.
The full call for papers is at: http://www.europython.eu/talks/cfp/
If you have friends or colleagues who have something valuable to
contribute, twist their arms to tell us about it! Please point anyone
that you feel may be interested to this link.
Alternatively, you can make your submissions directly at:
http://www.europython.eu/talks/submit/
Already we have some fine keynote speakers, with more to be confirmed:
* Professor Sir Tony Hoare
* Jim Hugunin
* Cory Doctorow
Following on from the successful tutorials at PyCon UK 2008, the
conference will start with two days of tutorials. Proposals for half
day tutorials can be submitted using the same form.
Following on after the conference will be several days of sprints. If
you are involved in a Python project, and would like to sprint on it,
then please add it to the list of sprints and sprint ideas here:
