Why was a new list created? At EP 2007 in Vilnius there was a plenary discussion about improving EuroPython, in particular about how to involve more people in the orgainsation. It was very well-attended (most of the delegates were there) and it was decided to start a new list for those interested in helping, and this list is it. It was discussed a lot at the time both at EP and on #europython. You must have missed this. Apart from the list, there's the wiki, where you can sign up to anything, suggest topics, etc. For example see http://wiki.europython.eu/Helping It's probably fair to say that in recent years there has been little involvement from the delegates in helping run EP, and we're trying to do something about it. The message is that if you see something wrong, you can help fix it. Hence europython-improve and the wiki. >> You can subscribe to it at: >> http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/europython-improve > > I'm not subscribed, so please cc me in to any replies. That's not very practical, so I've subscribed you. > So what is happening with tutorials and talks? How do I sign up? Probably we'll do the same as for Python UK, ie pay at the rate of £25 per student per day, although many of last year's tutors waived the fee. Our issue at the moment is the budget, we have no idea how much sponsorship we'll get this year because of the general economic gloom and we're having to take a bit of a flyer on some things. > What's the speak rate this year? This will be available at the end of Extra Early Bird rate, and will almost certainly be the same as EEB, ie £95. I hope this helps, Best wishes, John -- _______________________________________________ Europython-improve mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/europython-improve
