Recently I installed an 3COM 3C905C Ethernet card in my computer. Using a cross over cable I am attempting to get it to talk to a WIN98 machine with the same NIC. I went into linuxconf and entered a unique IP address for eth0. Problem is it refuses to talk to the other machine. I can find no evidence of network activity and worse my ppp0 interface is now NOT working either (it did prior to this modification). This should be simple. Could someone please help me diagnose this problem? Jon H. Linux 7.2
