It is purely "familiarity". Shorewall works as good as bastille in all cases. Shorewall has different defaults and people don't know how to configure it to work for them. The question then becomes what are they using to configure it? I dislike gui configuration utilities, but they do seem to be what is being requested. So what are people trying to do? How can the configuration utilities provide that functionality? Those are the questions that will need to be answered for 9.2 (already too late for 9.1). Blue skies...
