I've read Al Franken's book on "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell

if for nothing else, its rigorous adherence to factual material, and

the painstaking way that Franken exposes creeps like Rush Limbaugh),

the news. Each of them has said something off the wall occasionally,

though I've not witnessed it personally.

She is friends of Bill Maher and has appeared on Real TIme with Bill Maher a couple of times. Now I respect Bill Maher so it was interesting to see her on his show, which is really no holds barred. It changed my opinion of her--I could see she was really just using the "no publicity is bad publicity" thang to play the conservative audience. I'm not saying she doesn't believe what she says, but after seeing her on Real Time, I realized that she was essentially a conservative "shock jock", using this conservative shock value to move product. And of course, a blonde female. People are always amazed when a good looking blonde female shows some sign of intelligence. It's a form of discrimination our culture plays into like someone rubbernecking at a car accident.
