Hard to tell.  You'd have been better off to post the output from Fink
Commander's window--the original developer has left and few people
here know anything about Fink Commander.

And for any package installation failures, definitely go with the
output window as the means to see what's going on rather than the
console.

No.


"archived" is FinkCommander's way of saying that a binary package
exists on your system and isn't installed.
