The fix was about changes made by statements located underneath the 
cursor (e.g. for select + insert/update/delete inside, with regular 
searched updates/deletes and select-based inserts belonging to the same

Here "independent" means everything but positioned update/delete, so it 
includes both "stacked" cases we fixed and "sequential" cases.
