Note that a 0.9.11 binary from the plib branch needs to be
released with data/*HEAD*. Otherwise you'll see lots of things
broken.
The only subdir where data/plib would be needed is the Hunter
aircraft.
Here's a question for the group. We don't need to decide now, but we need
to figure this out before the final official 0.9.11 release.
Currently the "data" package is released with only a subset of all the
available aircraft:
737-300, A-10, bf109, bo105, c172p, c310, c310u3a, Citation-Bravo, f16,
j3cub, Hunter, p51d, pa28-16, Rascal, T38, ufo, wrightFlyer1903
The ufo is there for utility purposes if nothing else.
The Rascal is there to demonstrate the R/C scale (UAV) capabilities of
FlightGear.
The bo105 is there because it was our only and best helicopter.
The Wright Flyer is there for it's historical significance.
The others are there because they are representative of a certain class of
aircraft, or because they were the nicest available at the time.
Do we want to update this list? People shouldn't take this personally if
their aircraft is removed from the base distribution. We really need to
keep trying to reduce this list, and *all* aircraft are easily downloadable
from the web page.
Open to suggestions ...
Curt.
