Actually we're doing this for almost a decade now. Michael Basler started using "TeX4ht" on Windows and I'm pursuing the compilation step into the publicly available versions still using the same tool (but on Linux) since he left a couple of years ago. The current version of The FlightGear Manual as HTML is available here: http://mapserver.flightgear.org/getstart/ .... I'm sure there's a link somewhere on The Wiki (if Hellosimon didn't carry out his threat of moving it into the attic ;-) An ugly but functional Bash script is available in the "getstart" GIT repository.
