[1] "Jim Knopf and Lukas the engine driver" Ralph Hoehn: I am deeply impressed by the fact that we have reached a quality of discourse where the correspondents have begun to use footnotes ;-). "Jim Knopf and Lukas the engine driver" is a puppet show put on by the so-called "Augsburger Puppenkiste", a string puppet troupe for television, which was popular and successful in Germany back when I was a kid (i.e. preceding my currently 30 years in folding boats ;-). The quality of productions by "Augsburger Puppenkiste" is high, the carving of the puppets (new ones for each new production) incredible, and surely largely lost on the supposedly "kid" audience ... at least that's why I watch it with my kids ;-).
