If it’s truly abandoned, you generally want to keep the name, unless it’s trademarked or “bad” in some way. A better reason to change the name is when you fork it while the original developer continues on with the project under the same old name. “Fuel” isn’t the greatest of names. It probably applies to a whole raft of other projects and non-software things. I guess it’s supposed to evoke “refined fossils”, and also fuel for your software development efforts? If so, points for being cute.
