To my knowledge, the D box only supports RAID solutions as an external SCSI drive configuration. The System Administration Guide (B0193ND, Rev J) makes note of the external SCSI drives will be supported in future releases. Since the guide was provided with the 6.3 base level software it is probably not supported until now. We tried your setup in the lab today with similar results: boot starts ok but after a short while "panic and reboot". There is a way to get it working but that is not supported. Configuration will be lost with new installs. The B0400PT document is ...ahum... a bit confusing (?) Regards, Ron Deen Senior System Service Specialist Invensys Systems N.V. Baarnsche dijk 10 P.O. Rumour has it, it's supposed to be possible - according to B0400PT anyway. I've Day Zeroed it, but I can't get it to boot. And yes, I have changed the "altdisk" (originally "raid") device label. It starts going through the boot process from the external hard disk, but continually panic dumps.
