I'm running Fvwm built from CVS. If I understand fvwm-menu-desktop it's looking for .desktop files in /usr/share/gnome/apps or applications. On my FC10 install there is no such directory: home> ll /usr/share/gnome drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-04-30 15:59 autostart -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 884 2009-01-15 20:08 default.session drwxr-xr-x 85 root root 4096 2009-05-14 21:33 help drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-04-30 15:47 shutdown drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-04-30 15:58 wm-properties I looked around for a bunch of .desktop files and didn't find them. I came to the conclusion that the "right" way to build these menus is to use the XDG specified XML files. I don't remember the whole spec but I did find xdg-menus produces useful menus.
