Caleb, did you reset the PMU? "Resetting the Power Manager PowerBook G3 Series (Bronze Keyboard)computers have a reset button located on the back of the computer behind the I/O door. Press the button once to reset the power manager."
I'll try that right now. I remember doing it before, but that was after I accidentally kicked the plug out of the wall before I got the NewerTech battery.
The PMU is located (AFAIK) on the main logic board. There is a separate "Power Supply Card" (separate from the "Sound Card" which contains the power-in jack), located under the trackpad. I'm not sure exactly how (or if) its failure can lead to the symptoms you've described.
I'm pretty sure that the Power Supply Card would take the whole machine out with it, if it's as you describe it.
