Hi Claire, It is most likely Phelsuma lineata bombetokensis, but it is one of those cases where it is very difficult to the determine the exact species, also since no location is known.
The black spot behind the fore legs is a little too far backwards and too light to be sure it is P. l. bombetokensis. This is more a feature of P. quadriocellata bimaculata. But p. q. bimaculata usually has a yellow eye-ring where the picture shows clearly a blue eye-ring, common in P. l. bombetokensis. The tail structure, although regenerated, also indicates P. l. bombetokensis. The red spot on the back is too variable in many species and should not be considered a determination factor. Mind you that P. q. bimaculata occurs in an area with double the amount of rainfall compared to P. l. bombetokensis. I apoligise for the bad quality, but this one shows more of his markings. I posted this and another pic on the PhelsumaWeb forum and people then guessed it could be P. l. bombetokensis. It was sold to me as a Peacock Day Gecko. Claire --- Emmanuel Van Heygen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi, > > Could you maybe post a picture to make sure it is > P.l.bombetokensis.
