Viewers were also in the original GQView configuration. The editors can be disabled by adding "NotShowIn=X-Geeqie" or by "Hidden=true" to the desktop file, either on system level or by copying the desktop file to ~/.geeqie/applications and editing it there. It is also possible to place the editor elsewhere in the menu, with something like "X-Geeqie-Menu-Path=EditMenu" There could be some GUI for editing files in ~/.geeqie/applications, I am still thinking how it should look like. > - Some editors are ignored because they don't have "%U" in the exec > field of the desktop file (Hugin, Inkscape, Bibble, ...) I could not find anything about this in the standard http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ The problem is how to filter-out programs that don't accept arguments at all. > - Even if the icon entry is correctly defined in the desktop file, some > icons are not displayed in the menu (and app is harder to find in the > list !) I think that I have fixed it in 1554. The problem was that gtk function expects an icon name without extension and the extension was in the desktop file. > - In addition to point 1, hability to sort editors in a custom order > would be usefull ! > I think that the alphabetical sort is good enough for now, there are more important things to improve. > Of course, this is just ideas, and I know that GUI are always lot of work !
