i downloaded the athlon-xp cds 1 and 2 . i stepped through installation and everything went fine till i came to step 8.
to enter the chroot environment you have to type the following lines
"mount -t proc proc /mnt/gentoo/proc"
then the follwoing message appears : "mountpoint /mnt/gentoo/proc" does not exist.
i typed " mkdir /mnt/gentoo/proc "
ok??
then i typed :
"cp /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/gentoo/etc/resolv.conf"
then the messages appears: " cannīt create regular file. no such file or directory"
but why ?
in /etc and in /mnt/gentoo/etc the file resolv.conf exists.
what went wrong? where is my fault?
i did follow the instructions for the GRP install. i know many things there are already configureg but i still have to enter "chroot" as far as i understood.
