Unless it is a cardbus slot and PCcard, in which case neither pcmcia cardmgr nor "/etc/init.d/pcmcia start" is necessary. In modern laptops, you do not even need to emerge pcmcia-cs unless you need to use some ancient PCMCIA card.... -Richard -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
