I decided to try it on a MS Surface Pro 4 on a new, clean install. Plasma/KDE seemed ok, except hibernate would not work. After seeing this thread on various "problems" I installed xfce alongside KDE last night, and logged in. Hibernate now works fine and I am on my 4th resume without a crash :) bye bye KDE ... BillK
