Is this possibly a grub setting? Check /etc/default/grub or whatever
it might be on your system and look at

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

If that's there then remove the word 'quiet' and
run sudo update-grub or whatever is appropriate
for your system to set up the change.

I already check "/etc/default/grub" has no entry "quiet" in it.
