There is a problem with that.
I have a desktop and a laptop running gentoo.
On the desktop, I have no-multilib and wine's wow64 mode doesn't properly work. On the laptop, I have multilib and steam, but proton and wine seem to not be able to handle switching between the integrated gpu and the dedicated gpu. And I also cannot start xorg on the dedicated gpu and skip the integrated gpu.

I eventually played the game on a windows laptop.
Will probably do the same once the game gets finally finished.
Sad that this is how it still is on linux, but it is what it is.
Maybe one day, I won't even have to look up if a game is linux native or through proton.
