A number of years ago, the issue of requiring each student have a laptop at a private school came up. While this is quite different from public schools in the US and in third world countries, some of the arguments are still very valid. Back at that time, some of the teachers objected because they could not afford to buy decent computers. While, in this country, I would assume that most teachers can afford at least a relatively up-to-date desktop, this may be an issue in third world countries, and it is important that the teachers have systems for themselves.
