It all depends on what you want to do, and how you want to do it. If you're just looking for a diagramming tool, there are a ton out there. NetEdit wasn't *BAD*, but it wasn't great, either (http://www.mark13.de/netedit/). I don't know if it's even being developed anymore. There are also a bunch of plug-ins for Dia that you can get. If you're looking for a program that will go out and map your network for you, then that is a different story. Go with Nomad (http://netmon.ncl.ac.uk/).
