FREePHILE is looking for a talented, hands-on MySQL developer / DBA to work on (paid) Open Source projects. Candidate MUST already have made contributions to Open Source software. Ideal candidate would also have deep understanding of PostgreSQL, and be able to select the right database for the job. Experience using and installing MySQL tools (such as PHPMyAdmin) is a given, and attention will be paid to IDE of choice (such as PHPEdit, NuSphere, Emacs, etc.) Candidate should have working experience with at least one of the following: Oracle, SQLServer, DB2. Experience working on both Windows and Linux, with CVS, and contributing to Open Source projects is a must. In addition to installing, configuring, administering plus extending available Open Source projects, work will involve integrating with, extending and/or converting proprietary database applications to work in Open Source environments (ie. Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP or simply LAMP). A simple example would be converting a website that uses a Microsoft Access database backend that has functionality written in VBA or ASP/VBScript into a MySQL database with similar functionality written in PHP and/or PERL and JavaScript. REQUIREMENTS: MySQL Microsoft Access at least one of Oracle / SQLServer / DB2 PHP Experience using Linux, CVS and software development methodology Must be a contributor to Open Source software BONUS: PostgreSQL PERL JavaScript XML ASP / VBScript VBA Converting Microsoft and other proprietary software applications to open source LAMP environments.
