Subject: Re: [GnuDIP] Re: Gnudip2 - You have installed it before?
From: Damien Mascord <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

If you wish to be rid of GnuDIP maintaining you need to hand it over to someone else :)
I have already given full access to two people.

> Or at least stop hosting it on your webserver

It is not on my web server. It never was. It is on the SourceForge site:

  http://sourceforge.net/

operated by VA Linux.

and advertise your name everywhere :P
I removed my name from the source code entirely a few months ago. I left Mike Machado's name in the files that were directly derived from his files. For the web pages, my name appears only in the "credits.html" files (misspelled!). Neither my nor Mike's E-mail or web page name appears anywhere in the source or the web pages.

The archives of course have E-mails from me with my E-mail address and web site name in the signature. These archives are also not on any machine I have access to.

On the other hand, if you're going to withdraw from the project then we need
to know (as a minimum) who the other two people are that you mentioned have
write access to the current repository.
They are listed on the GnuDIP project page at SourceForge as "Project Admins":

http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnudip2/

which links to them at:

http://sourceforge.net/users/gnudipdev/
and
http://sourceforge.net/users/trodery/

If you are serious about supporting GnuDIP, send me an E-mail. I could probably geve you access too. Could you first consult with those who currently have access though?

There does not seem generally to be any way to delete anything at SouceForge.

But I could just turn the web site into a single page saying GnuDIP exists no more, and delete all of the members from the mailing list so they won't get spam on it. I wonder sometimes if that would be better than leaving it unmaintained. At present the web site does point out that GnuDIP is no longer maintained.
