Deaths in Goan English Dailies Today:(including 2 on Goa-Bombay Bus) Goa Mubai Volvo Bus burst into flames near Kankavli (Maharastra) leaving two people dead and other injured. 24 years old Rolly Cardozo of Asolna, Culmorod died. He was going to join his shipping company. 31 years old Samson Fernandes of Chinchinim, Sanklletolleabhand, also died. It appears that he was working for Menezes Caterers, Chinchinim. There were in all 9 condolence ads in the Herald today for bothe Rolly & Samson from their friends and family. None seen in NT. It was not disclosed about the ill-fated bus owener/company but Bus Regn. GA09 T 4040. There were in all 40 passengers, some managed to escape by breaking the windows. The bus first hit a tree and then caught fire. The accident occurred around 10.10pm within 10 minutes after the bus continued its onward journey after a halt at Kankavli for dinner.
25year old Neil from Bangalore feared drowned at Calangute Beach. He and his friend were swimming but his friend was rescued by the Life guards and Neil could not be located and feared drowned. 40years old Ghadowada in Surla-Bicholim drowned in a nullah. He had gone there for fishing 58years old Gulzar Laxmidar of panaji near Mahalaxi Temple, succumbed to his injuries at GMC. He was killed by his son-in-law. 4year old Rizwan Shaik of Zuarinagar died of drowning after he accidentally fell in a soak-pit while playing at a construction site. 23year old Ravi Lamani from Sanguem coomited suicite by hanging himself to a tree . He ws reported missing from 26th May. 5year old Nikkil Rohidhas Parvartkar of Vodlamoil-Cacora drowned in a pond on Sunday morning. He was accidentally fell into the bond. The other two kids who were with him informed the family about the incident. 70year old Jan Rama Rathod from Goa Velha, his body was recovered from a varandah in a closed building at Goa Velha.
