The discussion two years ago on Goanet highlighted
several sources that provided evidence of Catholic
churches being built on Hindu temples. There are many
references on this topic. As a side note, based on my
readings I visited the Divar church (my family is from
Divar) and sure enough, saw the remnant structures of
a Hindu temple structure within the church complex.

There is a good reason why there is virtually no
significant Hindu temple in the "Old Conquest" regions
of Goa (Bardez/Salcette). These regions were under the
Portuguese during the period of the inquisition and
were subject to annihilation by the Christian forces.
The other, outer Talukas did not become part of
Portuguese Goa until the 1800's - long after the
inquisition had passed. It is no wonder therefore that
these regions continue to have promininent temples.
This simple observation itself serves as a quick
reality check of the truth.

Gilbert is behaving like the President of Iran who
keeps asking for more evidence about the "alleged"
Jewish holocaust. Having Churches magically appear on
top of ruined Hindu temples is taking the laws of
entropy to the limit.
